Dragons: Chapter Two

One and only one

Blaine stepped out of the shadows and into the night breeze. The moonlight reflected off the handle of his sword as he stepped onto the road. The sound of cart wheels reach Blaine’s ears. As the vehicle rolled into his view, he waited for it to stop. The driver stopped when he recognized Blaine.

“Get in.” After quickly getting in, Blaine sat down next to the driver.

“What’s the meeting about this time, Dakay?” Blaine inquired.

“The Daleanain Islands. A shipman of the Ancura has reported that one of the Daleanain Island’s, Ubartia, has stopped sending communication signals and supplies. The island is the farthest from the others with only a few people living there. “

“Do you think the Island is trying to become independent?”

“That’s not possible. Ubartia is way too small, the people living there cannot even farm because of the size of the island, that is why they tend to make weapons.” Dakay answered. His old features turned to face Blaine. “I know of a creek just off the road. Let’s stop there for the night and then head on in the morning.”

“Right.” They entered into the brushes to spend the night.
