The Light
Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the road. The sparkle in the dark. The relief from the pain. Yet, when life gets dark, God doesn’t.
The Bible clearly tells us there will be troubles in this life if you belong to Christ (2 Timothy 3:12). Yet, somehow it’s hard to see that it’s for our good and God’s glory. That we are like unrefined gold and need more time in the fire. That those perfectly aimed chisel-marks from the Creator are necessary. And that it’s a gift from God to suffer (Philippians 1:29).
But, even through the sorrow, we have a Hope, a Light, in Jesus Christ, and we are not ashamed, because He has saved us! He has paid for our sin and our debt. We are free in Him.
“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
II Corinthians 4:6
