Something I love!

I haven’t written much about my love for exercise, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love it. I had always liked games involving cardio, such as tag, cops and robbers, and anything having to do with exertion and competition, as a young girl, but now that I am older, I kinda of stopped playing those games. As for replacing it, I now have a membership with a gym.:)

Let’s just say that group fitness is my go-to. I LOVE it. Nothing is better than working out with friends and family. Everyone around you encourages you to pump it up and keep going (even if you feel that you are about to die). So much fun. I enjoy it so much that I can’t wait to get certified in a few Les Mills classes!

It all starts with a habit. Almost every human has a natural desire not to induce pain upon themselves, but, as we all know, you can’t get stronger unless you work to rip your muscles apart (and that causes a lot of pain, if you do it right). So, if you have a habit of exercising, it makes it ten times easier than if you pick any random day you feel like working out. Because habits are hard to break, they can influence you to work hard everyday. So, if you wish to start a new exercise plan, make it a habit.

But, we should always remember the verse in 2 Timothy 4:8, “…for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds the promise for present life and also for the life to come.”, knowing that the most important thing is training in godliness, hiding the Word of God in our hearts and proclaiming Christ with our bodily actions. We are to be a holy and acceptable, living sacrifice for God, which is our spiritual worship (Romans 12:1-2).

Also, exercise with the body creates endurance, and that helps you discipline your mind, producing self-control, which is one of the fruits of the Spirit.

While I do try to keep my body healthy and in good shape, I also know that godliness profits more important than bodily exercise. So, train yourself in both that you may bring glory to God!
