Best Easter Song Yet!

Phil Wickham’s new song Sunday is Coming is the perfect song for Easter. It retells the story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, pointing to the hope we have in it and through it.

“According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3b 

What does the Resurrection of Jesus mean and why did He have to rise from the dead? My Bible teacher once put it this way. Let’s say that I give you some car keys and say that you can have my car, but I don’t even have car. So, how can I give something I don’t have? Jesus had to conquer death in order that He can give us power over death as well. “And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.” (1Corinthians 6:14). If Christ had not been raised, we would still be dead in our trespasses and sin (1 Corinthians 15:17). Through the Resurrection, Christ proved He had victory over death, and if we repent and believe in Him we also can have victory over death.

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
