Naturalization

In America, most of Americans are born citizens or in other words, gain citizenship by being born on American soil, but there is a process in which foreigners can gain citizenship. This is called naturalization; this procedure involves a lot of requirements but is worth it.

As sinners, we have created a wall between us and God, but Jesus has broken that wall, so that we may become citizens of God’s Kingdom.  “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;” Ephesians 2:19. Just like in America, we can naturalize into God’s Kingdom.

How can you be naturalized into heaven? In America, it takes fives years of residence in the United States and many other complications to become a citizen. But to gain citizenship in heaven one must “…’Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…’”  Acts 16:31. It is as simple as that; all you have to do is believe. It says in John 3:16, that whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life.

When you become a Christian, you now hold a duel citizenship. No longer are you just a citizen in earth, but a citizen in heaven. God has gifted you with this citizenship, and with a price. Jesus blood bought it for us. Jesus sacrificed himself, so that we might be in the right relationship with God. He took down that wall; He broke it so that we could come to God. What love is this? It is so great and wonderful.
